Farragut beat DB 26-8. Alcoa beat Bell Co, KY pretty soundly I hear.
Alcoa beat Bell County 42 to 14!
Scoreboard - CoachT.com
Yeah, Bell was hanging in there early, moving the ball pretty well especially on the ground. Game was tied at 14 at the end of the 1st and then 21-14 at the half...Bell was driving on Alcoa in the 2nd qt at one point, appeared to be on their way to scoring, but then fumbled it away and Alcoa responded going up at halftime and from then on it was all Alcoa.
Yeah I was just about to post that. No surprise really. Alcoa is a 5A or even 6A talent. They have always owned the 2A.
Alcoa has to much speed for Bell, the only chance Bell had in that game was to mount 2-3 6-7 minute drives. Anybody got a Middlesboro score from this evening?

Middlesboro lost 28-7.
Kind of figured that, know some people over in Middlesboro and they are down this year. They expected both they and Bell to get beaten pretty badly tonight. Beamer, you may know, what happened with that kid that Middlesboro had last year is he playing college ball anywhere?

Hunter Adams...last I'd seen he signed with Tusculum. Most everything I've seen from their fans too has been the same in that they'll expect them to struggle this year. Losing Adams alone will be pretty tough.
By the way, Harlan County (who open up next week) scrimmaged Corbin Thursday in the Grid-O-Rama over in Corbin...
The Harlan Daily Enterprise - Dragons win Bears fall in Grid O Rama
I think Biggin asked about them recently, WYMT had a little preview on them (video on the second page). I expected the Harlan Daily will have something on them too...
